Ultimate Sack Instructions & Care
Everything you need to set up, break in, protect, and refresh your Ultimate Sack for years.
Quick note: Your Sack may look “lumpy” at first. That’s normal during expansion and break-in.
Setup & Unboxing
What’s in the box
- Outer cover (removable)
- Inner liner (holds the foam)
- Foam (pre-filled inside the liner) (or ships separately depending on your model)
Step-by-step setup
- Bring the box inside and open it carefully (avoid using a deep blade).
- Remove the cover + liner bundle and place it on a clean floor.
- Let it expand for 24–48 hours for best loft.
- If your cover isn’t installed, put it on starting from the base, pull evenly, then zip closed.
Pro tip: Expansion looks uneven at first—give it time and a few fluff sessions.
Break-In & Fluffing
Your Sack will soften over time—that’s where the comfort comes from.
First-week routine
- Day 1–2: Let it expand fully.
- Day 3–7: Fluff once per day (30–60 seconds).
How to fluff (fast)
- Grab two sides and lift/shake.
- Roll it forward once or twice.
- Punch down the center to form your seat pocket.
If it feels too firm
- Use it daily for a week—foam relaxes with real use.
- Do a few gentle “seat drops” to help it settle.
Shaping Guide
Lounging
Mound higher behind you to build a soft backrest.
Gaming
Create a lower seat pocket + taller back for posture support.
Reading
Build a “wedge” shape and keep the top corners fuller.
Naps
Flatten evenly, then fluff the edges like a pillow border.
Optional: Add 2–3 simple photos here showing each shape.
Refilling / Adding Foam
When should I add foam?
- If it feels noticeably flatter after months of heavy use
- If you want a firmer feel
How to add foam
- Unzip the outer cover.
- Locate the liner zipper.
- Add small amounts at a time (a little goes a long way).
- Zip the liner fully before putting the cover back on.
Important: Avoid overfilling—it reduces the “sink-in” comfort.
Everyday Care
- Rotate your Sack weekly to keep wear even.
- Keep away from direct heat sources (space heaters, fireplaces).
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight to help prevent fading.
- Keep sharp objects away (pet nails, tools, belt clips).
Spot Cleaning
For small spills
- Blot immediately (don’t rub).
- Use mild soap + water on a soft cloth.
- Dab, then blot dry.
- Air dry completely.
Do not: soak the foam/liner.
Cover Washing
Use the guidance below as a safe baseline. If your specific cover has a care tag, follow that first.
Most removable covers
- Wash cold, gentle cycle
- Mild detergent only
- Air dry or tumble low (if fabric allows)
Sherpa / plush-style covers
- Cold wash
- No fabric softener
- Air dry recommended to keep texture
Performance / woven covers
- Cold wash
- Tumble low if permitted
- Zip closed before washing to protect the zipper
Always
- Wash cover only (not foam/liner unless designed for it)
- Test any stain remover on a hidden area first
Stain & Odor Guide
- Food/grease: blot → mild soap → repeat (don’t heat-dry until gone)
- Mud: let dry → vacuum/brush → spot clean
- Pet accidents: enzyme cleaner (fabric-safe) → air dry fully
- Smoke/odor: baking soda on cover overnight → vacuum → wash cover
Kid & Pet Tips
- Use a washable throw blanket for heavy daily use.
- Trim pet nails to prevent snags.
- Consider a secondary “everyday” cover if you swap styles seasonally.
Safety Notes
- Keep foam away from small children (choking hazard if accessed).
- Do not open the liner around kids/pets.
- Not intended for use near open flames/high heat.
- Use on stable flooring to help prevent sliding.
FAQs
Why is it lumpy?
Normal during expansion. Give it 24–48 hours, then fluff daily for a week.
How long does it take to feel perfect?
Most people love it within 7–14 days as the foam breaks in.
Can I wash the foam?
No—wash the cover only. Keep the liner/foam dry.
My cover is tight. Is that normal?
Yes. That’s common on first install. Work it on from the base evenly; it loosens slightly with use.
How often do I add foam?
It depends on usage. Many customers don’t need to for a long time, but you can add foam anytime for a firmer feel.
